LMH Vice Chairman William J. Brennan Retires After 24 Years of Distinguished Public Service
TOLEDO, Ohio - Lucas Metropolitan Housing (LMH) today announces the retirement of Vice Chairman William J. Brennan, one of the agency's longest-serving commissioners, after an extraordinary 24-year tenure dedicated to advancing affordable housing and resident empowerment in the Toledo region.
"My time on the LMH Board has been one of the most rewarding professional experiences of my life," Brennan shared. "I look forward to cheering on LMH from the sidelines as it continues its vital work in our community."
Brennan ranks among the four longest-serving commissioners in LMH's 92-year history, with others having served 27, 28, and 39 years, respectively. His decades of leadership have helped shape the strategic direction of LMH's housing initiatives and community development efforts.
"On behalf of Lucas Metropolitan Housing, we extend our deepest appreciation to Commissioner Brennan for his unwavering commitment and decades of dedicated service," said LMH Board Chair Alisha Gant. "He has been a steadfast leader, a trusted colleague, and a passionate advocate for equitable housing and opportunity."
Brennan's distinguished career spans both the public and private sectors. He spent 25 years in the construction industry, primarily in trade association management and labor relations, followed by 21 years in public service, culminating in a role focused on economic development. He remains active on the Toledo Lucas County Homelessness Board and the Lucas County Transportation Improvement District.
"Bill's integrity, leadership, and dedication have left a lasting mark-not just on LMH, but on the lives of thousands of families throughout our region," said LMH President and CEO Senghor Manns. "His legacy will continue to inspire our mission to provide safe, sustainable, and inclusive housing. We thank him for more than two decades of remarkable contributions and wish him every success in the next chapter of life."
Brennan is stepping down for personal reasons. A successor will be appointed by the Lucas County Board of Commissioners at a later date.
