Notice: Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Utility Allowance Revisions
Lucas Metropolitan Housing (LMH) is required to review the calculation of utility allowances each year. If the calculated change is 10% or greater, LMH must give notice of the change. This notice of change is consistent with that requirement.

LMH's calculation of rates done in May 2023 shows a rate increase of greater than 10% from the rates calculated in 2022. As required by 24 CFR 982.517, LMH is revising its 2024 utility allowances, based on information obtained this year.

The Utility Allowance Schedules for Toledo, Sylvania, and Maumee, Ohio are applicable to Lucas, Wood, and Fulton counties.
On request from a family that includes a person with a disability, a PHA must approve a utility allowance that is higher than the applicable amount on the utility allowance schedule if a higher utility allowance is needed as a reasonable accommodation to make the program accessible to and usable by the family member with a disability. See 24 CFR 982.517.

Proposed effective date for revised utility allowances: January 1, 2024.
