Light The Night: A Recognition of Local Organizations Partnered in the Fight Against Crime
WHAT: An annual celebration of community partnerships that recognizes the solidarity between local government, law enforcement and community volunteers in the fight against crime.
WHY: Communication between law enforcement officials and community members is essential in order to keep neighborhoods and their residents safe. Key members of local law enforcement will give updates on projects underway and take questions from community members. Often called “a going away party for crime and drugs,” Light the Night offers the opportunity for public service officers and community members to come together and address shared concerns. Light the Night 2017 is sponsored by Toledo Neighborhood Block Watch and the Lucas Metropolitan Housing Authority (LMHA). Refreshments and music will follow remarks from local leaders and the ceremonial lighting.
