Project: Redevelopment of the Brand Whitlock/ Albertus Brown Homes
The LMHA is also working on a project to redevelop the Brand Whitlock/ Albertus Brown Homes. This redevelopment project will utilize low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC) to create a mixed-income community. The LMHA also plans to apply for a HOPE VI grant through HUD in 2009. Project: Houck Townhomes
Phase I of the Houck Townhomes project will be completed a ready for occupancy by August 1, 2009. The new construction project represents the first new low-income public housing developed by the Lucas Metropolitan Housing Authority since the early 1980’s. These modern townhomes will be energy efficient and visitable by persons with disabilities. The units will be a mix of 2 and 3 BR’s with one unit being fully handicapped accessible.
